The largest, brightest full supermoon of the year rises tonight, as the Moon positions itself opposite the Sun at its closest point to Earth. The Sun is currently in Scorpio, while the Moon shines in its complementary sign – directly opposite – in the constellation of Taurus.
Taurus is a sign closely connected to personal values. Individuals with strong Taurus placements in their natal chart – Sun, Moon, Rising, or Venus – often embody stability, loyalty, and practicality, and their affinity for comfort, sensual pleasure, and the security of home deeply influences their choices.
For all of us, the Taurus Full Moon invites us to consciously tap into our inner root system of values. This is particularly important now, as the broader astrological landscape buzzes with destabilizing energies – tension, delusion, and buried truths aching to surface. (Mars in Sagittarius opposing Uranus in Gemini, with Saturn and Neptune retrograde in Pisces, for the astro-geeks among us). We are both witnesses to – and participants in – an epic struggle for control of the narrative.
Currently retrograde in the final degree of its home sign, Neptune is illuminating what is no longer real – both personally and collectively. (A new chapter begins at the end of January 2026, when Neptune enters Aries for a 14-year transit.)
Deepening our connection to our core values can help us navigate these turbulent waters. When we know what we value, we gain a ballast—guiding our choices, responses, and boundaries, shaping both what flows from us and what we allow to flow toward us.
Some possibilities to consider:
- Authenticity
- Balance
- Beauty
- Compassion
- Courage
- Empathy
- Equanimity
- Fairness
- Generosity
- Gentleness
- Grace
- Integrity
- Kindness
- Openness
- Peace
- Reliability
- Resilience
- Respect
- Stability
Of course, this list is far from complete. Perhaps another value comes to mind – one that feels especially resonant for you.
A suggested practice: choose one word representing a value you strongly identify with, and another representing a value you most wish to see reflected back to you.
Next, create a sigil. A sigil—from the Latin for seal—is a symbolic design or monogram representing a word or name. To make one, take your chosen word (for example, “peace”) and remove any vowels and repeating consonants. With the remaining letters – in this case, P and C – combine or superimpose them into a unique design.
You can make as many as you like. Draw your sigil on paper and place it beside a candle, beneath a crystal, or on the bottom of a teacup or wineglass to amplify your intention.
